An inter-school drawing competition was organized at JSS Shri Manjunatheshwara English Medium School, Vidyagiri, Dharwad on November 7, 2025, to commemorate the 78th birth anniversary of Padmavibhushan Rajarshee Pujya Shri Dr. D Veerendra Hegde, Working President of Janata Shikshan Samiti and Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala.
The event was graced by Dr. Ajit Prasad, Secretary of Janata Shikshan Samiti, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Arihant Prasad, Administrative Officer of Janata Shikshan Samiti, and Shri Mahaveer Upadhyay, Principal of ITI Mahavidyalaya, as Special Invitees. The school’s Principal, Mrs. Renu Patil, along with Co-Coordinators Nirmal Patil, Priyanka Desai, and Kamalakshi Sannakki, were also present.
The competition was divided into three groups, focusing on themes highlighting the noble services of Pujya Shri and the notable contributions of SDM institutions. The topics for the art competition included:
- Group 1 (Classes 5-6): Millets, Agricultural Training, Lake Desilting, and Village Adoption Scheme
- Group 2 (Classes 7-8): Medical Services, Educational Institutions, Naturopathy, and Yoga
- Group 3 (Classes 9-10): Health Insurance, RUDSET, Annapurna Bhagya Dharmasthala, Women’s Empowerment, and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers
Amrit Joshi and Shivanand Kademane served as judges for the competition. The winners were:
- Group 1 (Classes 5-6): Shambhavi Degavi Math (First Prize)
- Group 2 (Classes 7-8): Shlok Nyamanagouder (First Prize)
- Group 3 (Classes 9-10): Satvik Timmapur (First Prize)
Dr. Ajit Prasad, the Chief Guest, distributed prizes and certificates to the winners, praised the efforts of the school, and highlighted the social services rendered by Dr. D Veerendra Hegde. A total of 118 students from 26 schools participated in the competition.
