Science Exploration Week

JSS Shri Manjunatheshwara English Medium School celebrated a week-long Science Day as Science Exploration Week from 23-02-2026 to 28-02-2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and teachers.

The primary objective of the celebration was to promote scientific thinking, creativity, and curiosity among students and to nurture a spirit of inquiry and innovation. Throughout the week, a variety of engaging and educational activities were organized, providing students with opportunities to explore, experiment, and express their scientific ideas.

The following events were organized during the week:

The celebration was a grand success, inspiring students to develop a deeper interest in science and its applications in everyday life.

Day 1 – 23-02-2026

Speech by Primary Students

The celebration began with speeches by primary students on the topic “Why do we need science in our life?”
The students explained how science plays an important role in daily life such as in transportation, communication, healthcare, and household activities. They spoke confidently and expressed their ideas clearly.

Day 2 – 24-02-2026

Speech on Great Scientists and Scientific Temper

Higher primary students delivered speeches about great scientists such as Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, and Charles Darwin.
They highlighted the discoveries and inventions made by these scientists and explained the importance of developing scientific temper. The presentations were informative and inspiring.

Day 3 – 25-02-2026

Hands-on Science Activities

Students from primary and higher primary classes participated in various hands-on science activities.
They demonstrated experiments such as refraction of light, carbon dioxide reaction, conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy, volcano model, proving that air has weight, and explaining major nutrients of food along with their benefits and deficiency diseases.

These activities helped students understand concepts through practical learning.

Drawing Competition

On the same day, a drawing competition on science diagrams was conducted for Classes V to VIII.
Students creatively illustrated scientific diagrams and models. The competition encouraged creativity and scientific understanding.

Day 4 – 26-02-2026

Class-wise Science Quiz Competition

A class-wise science quiz competition was organized.
Students enthusiastically participated and answered questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and general science. The quiz enhanced their knowledge and boosted their confidence.

Day 5 – 27-02-2026

Introduction to National Science Day & Notice Board Decoration

High school students gave a detailed introduction to National Science Day and explained the contributions of C. V. Raman.
They spoke about the Raman Effect and its significance in the field of science.

The notice board was beautifully decorated with charts, pictures, and scientific information on the topics like, Ayurveda, Space and Solar System,Global Warming and Conservation of energy.

Day 6 – 28-02-2026

National Science Day Celebration

The celebration concluded on 28th February 2026 with a special program dedicated to C. V. Raman and the Raman Effect.
Students presented speeches and shared information about his life and achievements. The program successfully inspired students to develop curiosity and scientific thinking.
