JSS SMEMS Vidyagiri, Dharwad celebrated Kanakadasa Jayanthi, the birth anniversary of Kanakadasa, as a commemoration to the great poet, saint, philosopher and composer. Kanakadasa holds a special place in the hearts of the people of Karnataka and is still remembered for his Kirthanas and Carnatic music compositions in the Kannada language.
Students from class 6 chanted Kanakadasa’s famous kirtan and also gave speeches on Kanakadasa’s life and work.
