Kite Making and Kite Flying Activity

Kite flying is a popular tradition during Makar Sankranti, a festival celebrated primarily in India, marking the transition of the sun into the zodiac sign of Capricorn. People fly kites to celebrate the sun’s ascent, as it is believed to bring warmth and positivity.

As part of their Social Studies (SST) curriculum, Class 5 students of JSS SMEMS Vidyagiri, Dharwad engaged in a kite-making activity. Meanwhile, the primary section students enjoyed flying their kites in the JSS ground, reveling in the festive spirit.
